Shooting at Sotheby's

I've been getting booked by Sotheby's a lot recently and I must admit, as different as it is from my typical music and nightlife shoots, I am really enjoying it. Yesterday, I was just free reign to walk around the 3rd, 6th and 10th floors of Sotheby's auction house in New York City and shoot. I wasn't given a whole lot of direction, but it was really nice to be in a static environment for a change.

Shooting events and nightlife is awesome, but you don't have as much control over your environment. Shooting at Sotheby's allows me to really focus on things like composition and visualization, rather than sitting and waiting for the perfect light, cryo cannon or burst of confetti. I also had the opportunity to meet the designer of the exhibits Sarah Story and take some photographs of her the day before.
